About us

For thirty years, we have been making the best shoes for growing feet.

The insight of Chris Bennett
In a garage in New Zealand, not unlike many other garages where great inventions have been born, Chris Bennett had an important test to overcome. He and Bobux co-founder Colleen needed shoes for their daughter Chloe, but nothing available on the market satisfied them. In that fateful garage, armed with leather, suede, and a pair of rubber straps, Chris had an idea: Soft Soles. Soft insoles, the first of their kind. He worked the materials, and finally, Chloe could have soft and comfortable shoes that allowed her feet to move naturally. Chris thought that other children might also like these soft and delicate shoes, so he took them to the local markets in Auckland, where demand skyrocketed.

Love for our people
It’s important for us as a company to do good in the world, so we only work with ethical and professional manufacturing partners. Every person who makes a Bobux shoe is a skilled artisan who receives fair pay and works in a healthy and safe environment. The factories where our shoes are made would not look out of place in any Western country, and we believe it is this commitment to people that allows us to continuously create shoes that children love.

For our planet
"Let each of us do our best to walk lightly on the earth" – Chris Bennett, founder of Bobux.
We make shoes for children, so we want to ensure we protect the world in which they will grow up. Thanks to our strong commitment to environmental sustainability, Bobux is always seeking opportunities for improvement. Over 50% of our products are already shipped with recyclable packaging, and our goal is to make it 100%. We are reviewing every part of our business, from how we make our shoes, to the materials we use, to how we ship them, constantly setting new goals for a better future. We create the best children's shoes in the world through our dedication and constant improvement of our design, material selection, and production process. It’s a commitment that continually drives us forward and that we now want to apply to the environment around us. Help us achieve this great project.
Our shoes
Each of our shoes is handmade from components that we create individually. We work closely with the best manufacturers, many of whom we have been collaborating with for over 10 years. It is the people who make our shoes that help us maintain a high standard, so we thought it was better to tell our story through them.

Careful selection of materials
The first part of the production process is the selection of materials. We regularly visit the tanneries we work with to choose the best high-quality leathers, explore innovative materials, and create our fabrics with unique properties.

Hand cutting and shaping
The people working in our production units cut and shape the materials by hand, using patterns specially made to assemble all the parts that make up our shoes.

Individually stitched
Once all the components are cut, a seamstress will hand stitch the fabrics to form the upper part of the shoe.

Super insoles
The only part of our shoes that is not handmade is the soles. Our soles are molded in one piece from highly flexible materials.

Putting it all together
Once all the components are made, our shoes are carefully assembled by hand, shaped, and glued to ensure they are always beautiful and durable.

Quality control
Before our shoes leave our factories, they are inspected according to strict quality standards. Bobux team members work on-site at each of our production units to ensure that our shoes meet the AQL 2.5 quality standards.
Design awards
For all the people behind the scenes who work tirelessly to bring joy to your child's feet, the awards we win are always a very special recognition. Winning a product design award means that you've truly created something exceptional. Winning an award tells us that we've made the world a better place in some way.
